IT'S A GIRL!!!

Mat and I found out on February 3rd that we soon will be blessed with a new baby GIRL!! We are very excited :) We have now jumped on the pink team and can't wait to meet our pride and joy little Taytum Leigh Bannister. I hope she comes out before the 4th of July because we already got her a little outfit for the big day. She has 10 fingers, 10 toes, two kidneys, four heart chambers and her bladder was full when we saw her. She has begun to move more and more and I'm starting to grow more and more. It's funny when you don't feel so big and then a stranger notices that you're pregnant. We have 4 months to go and can't wait to start decorating her room.

Looks like we'll be moving soon too. We've decided our condo is too small and the concrete stairs are out of the question. We have been looking around Vancouver for a new little home. We have found a few, but we still need to go in and see them.

Also, I was offered a new position at my work. I am now the Memory Care director! I am in charge of scheduling and disciplining caregivers. I work with a budget and keep track of hours. I never thought my nursing degree would put me in the business field. So far it's going pretty well and it lets me sit down more than the nurse position did. I am still working as a nurse, but not as much as before.

Baby Bumps

This is a picture of me at 15 weeks. We had to change doctors this week so we got to see our baby for the first time. In this ultrasound picture the baby is laying from Left to right. It's looking at you and you can see the eyes, nose and mouth. To the right and below you can see it's belly. We don't know the sex yet, but we will find out in February!! We are VERY excited!!!

Christmas!... Short and Sweet

This year for Christmas, Santa came to the Hahn House. All the little kiddos were super excited!! My mom was so excited for Christmas this year even our unborn baby got a stocking. :) We are at three months and there really is not a bump yet. On Christmas eve Mat and I stayed over at Mom and Dad Bannister's like we always do and then went out to Scappoose for Mat's grandparents' Christmas. All in all it was a good Christmas. On the 27th we flew down to San Diego with my family to spend a week. We went to the San Diego Zoo and to Sea World. We had a great time even though Mat was super sick on New Year's Eve. Thanks Mom and Dad Hahn!

I guess it's about time...

HA! So I made it almost a year without putting up a post. I guess you could say that I'm pretty much a slacker. Or I have been really busy. This past year, Mat and I have made some changes. I graduated from Nursing School in May, and now I'm working at an assisted living facility as a charge nurse. Mat was laid off in May and has officially decided to make a career change. December 6th he starts school in the computer programming/gaming field. I am very excited. It seems like something he's very interested in and can be really good at. This past August, we celebrated four years married and ten years together. I can't believe how the time has flown! I promise to add more posts in the coming months and hopefully I will get a new camera for my birthday so I can get back on track with pictures!

January...time flies!

Well, nothing exciting has happened this month. I haven't taken any pictures and haven't been home too much. I started my clinicals in the Emergency Department at the beginning of the month and it has been a blast! I have seen a heart attack, stroke, did CPR on a man who overdosed, lots of pelvic exams, and lots of broken bones...it's been nuts! I've been pretty busy with work and school so we haven't done anything exciting. Mat has decided that it's time for a mullet so I came home one night to him cutting it himself. GEEZ! He looks like his pictures from when he was like 3 years old. I guess I'll just have to get used to it. The whole team is growing their hair into mullets. Anyways, this month has flown by. Hopefully we will have something to write about next month!

Christmas 2009

Christmas was so busy this year! Mat and I both worked Christmas Eve Day and then had to be at Mom and Dad Hahn's by 2:30. We got the traditional family jammies and a neat car gadget that I hope will save me someday when my battery dies. (With my luck it will) I forgot my camera for Mom and Dad Hahn's house so my only pics are from Bannister Christmas. After we finished up with the Hahn's I failed miserably at making sweet potatoes on time and we were late to Bannister side Christmas Eve. It was fun to see all the relatives. We ate Carne asada and visited with all of Lyndon's side. On Christmas Eve we had a slumber party at the Bannister's and played Wii all night long. The next morning we had breakfast and opened presents. Mat and I got a new video camera and some cute clothes. Later on Christmas Day we went out to Mat's Grandparent's house where we ate again and opened more presents. We were spoiled with clothes this year! We are so thankful to have both our families in town but, man, It's exhausting!! We hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas! Ü

DENVER!

Well, Melanie had her baby! Peyton Mona McIlroy was born on November16!! She is as cute as a button. I was able to go visit them the weekend after the baby was born. I had such a fun time playing with the girls. They danced all night for me and Mom! I was able to help Mel out and make some frozen dinners to make their lives a bit easier for a week or so. Hopefully they enjoyed them. I had such a fun time visiting my favorite nieces!! Thanks Mel and Bran for having me!
